Office/Word 2003 in Windows 8

So the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant tells me that I cannot use Office 2003:
Well I upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 8 (that is I did NOT perform a clean install). And how does for example Word 2003 work:
Well it turns out that it works just fine! I haven't tried every feature, but everything I have tried appears to work. That includes Excel 2003 and Visio 2003.

      I use it frequently on Windows 8.1 and 10. Just install it or leave it installed and it works fine. There is even a compatibility pack for 2007 files online and a download for the Office Assistants like Clippy and Links on Microsoft's website. The only issue I found is that a green, pink, or blue background appears behind the Assistant.
